I would strongly advise against using features like AI-powered comments. From what I’ve seen, people can always tell when a comment is AI-generated. The AI doesn’t add new ideas; it usually just rephrases what the original post already said, and it doesn't sound human.

Using these tools can really damage your credibility. People want to interact with you in the comments, and automating replies that don't add value is a quick way to show you’re not genuinely engaged.

Is it bad to use tools that help identify trending topics?

It’s not bad at all, in fact, I think it’s good to know what conversations are happening in your industry. The danger comes when you let the tool write the post for you and act as the expert on that trend. I’ve seen this happen a lot.

If multiple people use the same tool to write about the same trending topic, you end up with dozens of posts that say the exact same thing. Use trends for inspiration, but make sure the final post is built on your unique perspective.

A major downside I see in many AI LinkedIn tools is that a lot of them let the AI lead you instead of you leading the content creation process.

This results in the generic AI slop that's all over LinkedIn today, content without real thinking, unique points of view, or personal experience.
